Survivors

You steer; your weapons fire themselves at the nearest enemy. The horde swells for three straight minutes — kite it, hoover up the blue XP gems, and pick an upgrade every level: sharper bolts, split shots, a nova ring, faster feet, more heart. Brutes hit hard but drop piles of XP. Survive to the final bell and the horde gives up.
